SJ Elite 13U White visits Widener University
Widener Alumni and SJE Coach Jim Wark was able to arrange a special day for the 13U White team on April 14. He and Coach Carl Foltz spent a fun afternoon at Widener University with the team and in the upcoming months they will play TSE games at the university.
Mike LaRosa, Head Baseball Coach for Widener, arranged for the boys to have a tour of the Schwartz Athletic Complex, lunch in the university cafeteria and then they watched Widener take on Messiah College.
Great display of the SJ Elite FAMILY!
Tournament Road looks like it could be slippery this weekend, but we will all hope for the best as the following teams participate in tournaments in New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware.
Tag ‘Em Tournaments will be running the Holbrook Spring Kick Off, where our 8U coached by Josh Weinstein 8U will start their tournament season along with our 10U White, 11U Orange and 12U White teams.
Traveling south to the Ripken Facility in Aberdeen, MD is the 9U White and 10U Orange to play in the Opening Day Tournament. This facility has all turf infields which will probably prove beneficial for these two teams. Coach Jackson’s team is primed and ready to play in this event after playing in a few TSE games this past week.
Hopefully south of the storm front is the 13U White who will be playing in the Festival of Fools down at Sports at the Beach in Rehobeth Beach, DE.
These teams can be followed on the tournament websites, and some by logging onto Game Changer via our website, www.sjelitebaseball.com

As well many of our teams are playing in TSE League games, and you can find those on http://www.tsebaseball.net/divisions.php
GO ELITE!
South Jersey shines in PA over rainy weekend…
10U White, we sent this team to an ECTB indoor tournament hoping to escape the cold but rather it would be the rain. Coach Paolini would manage the team to two wins on Saturday, Bellefonte Bucks 4-2 and Oley Valley 1-0, incredible low scoring games at this level. Sunday Coach Jackson would take the team to victories in the Quarter-Final (Oley Valley 12-0) and Semi-Final (Delaware Hurricanes 9-5) games but would lose in the finals against Red Land Travel 9-2. An awesome start to the season!
11U White, enjoyed a very impressive run in the Bensalem Spring Invitational Tournament this past weekend. The tournament drew high quality teams from Pennsylvania and ONE from South Jersey which some said was unknown, but due to the performance of Coach Corson’s team…they now know SJ Elite! Usually Saturday is an enjoyable get loose type of day but our boys got tested as they played three games in one day, winning them all…v. Newtown 8 – 2, v. Langhorne 9 – 4, v. Neshaminy 7 – 1. Sunday, they would win the Semi-Final game v. DelVal Senators 10 – 2 and then run would end in an exciting finals lost to the Tri-Township 11-8. Coaches Corson and Horvart great job with your team this weekend!
12U Orange / White, back home in Jersey both 12U Teams would take the drive up I-95 to Diamond Nation, our 12U White were challenged Friday night as they played a top quality Hamilton A’s Select Team going down 6-0, but would comeback Saturday night with a 16-4 win over the Valley Forge Rangers and would come up short in a 7-6 loss against the Diamond Jacks Gold. The 12U Orange team lost a tough first game 8-4 against the ASBA Select West Chester team, but coming off the previous weekend winning Sport at the Beach they showed why they are champions winning their next two games.
In local TSE League action the 9U teams swept two against Mt Laurel, 13U Orange grabbed wins against Brooklawn Red (14U) and Blackwood Blaze(14U), while the 13U White won againt Pinehill Rams.
Go Elite!

Coach Travis Corson will take the SJ Elite 11U White into our neighboring state of Pennsylvania to participate in the Bensalem Spring Invitational. They will truly be tested as they play three games on Saturday versus Newtown, Langhorne AA and Neshaminy Wildcats. They will then we seeded for Championship Sunday.
Coach Steve Paolini also heads west to Palmyra, PA with the SJ Elite 10U White team to battle in the 5th Annual In The Net Indoor War. They will compete Saturday in pool play against the Bellefonte Bucks and Oley Valley, they will then be seeded for Championship Sunday.
We wish these teams as well as those playing TSE game this weekend much success. Please keep the SJ Elite Family informed of game highlights via Facebook and Twitter.
PLAY BALL...Tournament Season Begins
SJ Elite Players have been working hard all winter long, getting stronger and faster with Trainer Nick Sacony, practice practice practice with their coaches, building arm strength, taking ground balls, fielding drills, pitching, defensive plays, touching on every skill set of this great game. How many swings in the cages? Go ahead take a guess! Our teams practice twice a week, would estimate 100 plus swings a practice, so 300 a week, 1200 a month, nearly 5000 this past winter!
Finally, the Tournament Season begins this weekend for two of our teams as follows and as each week passes all of our players will understand why they worked so hard during the “off-season”. They ARE prepared for the 2012 SJ Elite Baseball Season, and we wish everyone success.
“Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.” – John Wooden
SJ Elite 11U Orange will travel down I-95 to Aberdeen, MD and play in the Ripken Baseball UA Leadoff Tournament. Their pool play schedule is as follows:
Saturday
DE Blue Hens @ National Park
Minutemen @ Cal Sr’s Yard
Sunday
ASBA Select @ Wrigley Field
SJ Elite 12U Orange head south to Rehobeth Beach, DE to Sports at the Beach’s Shamrock Shootout. They start the weekend against High Heat Baseball Club followed by a game against the Delaware Diamonds. They will be seeded for Championship Sunday based on their Saturday games.
We wish our players and coaches all the best this weekend in the above tournaments as well as those teams who will participate in TSE games.
